Job Title : Area Sales Manager (Micro lap loans)
About the Role:We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead and expand our Micro LAP business in the Chennai region. The ideal candidate will bring strong market understanding, team leadership, channel development, and portfolio quality management experience specific to secured lending / LAP for the MSME segment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Growth
- Drive Micro LAP disbursements across the assigned territory to meet monthly & annual targets.
- Build a strong DSA/Connector network and onboard new productive channels.
- Identify new business opportunities in the MSME ecosystem and devise strategies for penetration.
- Analyze local market insights, competitor offerings, and customer behavior to optimize sales strategies.
2. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Relationship Officers / Sales Executives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance productivity.
- Ensure team adherence to sales processes, documentation standards, and compliance norms.
3. Credit & Portfolio Management
- Work closely with credit teams to ensure high-quality sourcing and adherence to credit policies.
- Monitor portfolio health, delinquency, and early warning signals.
- Drive corrective actions on portfolio risk and maintain strong asset quality.
4. Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with DSAs, connectors, chartered accountants, developers, and other business influencers.
- Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders including credit, operations, collections, and product teams.
5. Compliance & Process Excellence
- Ensure 100% compliance with KYC norms, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate reports, dashboards, and MIS for business tracking and reviews.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Micro LAP, Secured SME Lending, or Small-Ticket LAP markets.
- Proven experience in team handling, territory management, and channel management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, credit understanding, and portfolio monitoring capability.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results consistently.
